Globe is leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to drive smarter, more efficient energy use across its network and facilities—demonstrating how digital innovation can directly support sustainability and operational savings.

“We see innovation as a force for good,” said Joel Agustin, SVP and Head of Service Planning and Engineering at Globe. “These AI-driven solutions show that resource efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand.”

By integrating AI and ML into network operations, Globe has reduced electricity consumption across thousands of cell sites and facilities without compromising service quality.

“Tech allows us to respond in real time,” Agustin added. “It’s a smarter way to manage energy because the system knows when to ramp up or slow down depending on demand.”

Two major AI-driven tools—now deployed across nearly 20,000 network elements nationwide—have helped Globe save more than 11.3 million kilowatt hours (kWh) in 2024, equivalent to approximately ₱125 million in electricity cost reductions.

AI is also boosting efficiency in Globe’s buildings. Through the External Digital Demand Response Technology (EDD-RT) device, the company optimizes cooling systems by regulating piping temperatures and minimizing power use, delivering 20–30% annual energy savings.

Globe said its initiative underscores a broader commitment to building a greener, more cost-efficient network—one that enhances performance while reducing environmental impact.
