The Swiss Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (SwissCham Philippines) convened members, government officials, and business leaders for its 2025 Annual General Membership (AGM) Meeting and Sustainability Forum at Fairmont Makati, highlighting the role of innovation, partnerships, and circular economy practices in driving climate resilience and sustainable growth.
With the theme “Scaling Circular Economy Solutions for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Growth,” the event brought together Swiss and Philippine leaders to discuss public-private collaboration for a greener, more resilient future.

In her Chairperson’s Report, Christine Fajardo highlighted the Chamber’s focus on governance, sustainability, advocacy, and partnerships, noting that SwissCham connects and enables businesses between the Philippines and Switzerland while promoting trade, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Opening the Sustainability Forum, H.E. Dr. Nicolas Brühl, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Philippines, reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to sustainability and collaboration, encouraging a future where business opportunities, economic growth, and environmental stewardship advance hand in hand, and where circular economy practices become a reality for all.
Secretary Robert E.A. Borje, Vice Chairperson and Executive Director of the Climate Change Commission, emphasized that circularity, sustainability, and resilience create systems that endure amid volatility, aligning business success with environmental protection. Rep. Jose Manuel Alba, Chairperson of the House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, added that climate change is a daily reality requiring immediate and coordinated action.

Director General Paolo Teston of the Food and Drug Administration and Deputy Commissioner Agaton Uvero of the Bureau of Customs highlighted digitalization and modernization initiatives that enhance regulatory efficiency and ease of doing business.

A panel discussion moderated by Rosario Cajucom-Bradbury brought together government, business, and sustainability leaders to explore how policy, transparency, and innovation can accelerate the transition toward a sustainable and inclusive economy.

SwissCham Philippines continues to champion circular economy solutions, foster public-private collaboration, and advance climate resilience, paving the way for a sustainable future for both nations.
