Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has been recognized with the prestigious Excellence in Ecology and Economy (E³) Award under the Environmental Stewardship – Large Enterprise category, underscoring its commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing, energy efficiency, and community-driven sustainability initiatives.
The award was presented by Vice President Sara Duterte and officials from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) during the 51st Philippine Business Conference & Expo (PBC&E) at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Organized by PCCI, the E³ Awards honor companies that successfully integrate innovative environmental programs, demonstrating the link between sustainability and profitability. MMPC’s recognition reflects its dedication to operating responsibly while achieving business growth.

“At MMPC, we champion sustainable growth guided by our care for the environment and the communities we serve. By embracing green manufacturing, we not only support the government’s drive toward carbon neutrality but also inspire confidence among customers who value sustainability and responsible business practices. We are shaping a future where progress goes hand in hand with a cleaner, healthier, and safer world for generations to come,” said Marfel Ancheta, MMPC Vice President for Safety, Health, and Environment.
MMPC’s sustainability strategy includes programs on energy efficiency, emission reduction, water and waste management, resource optimization, and social responsibility initiatives aimed at uplifting communities. The company’s success is driven by its dedicated workforce and strict adherence to environmental standards.
The company now operates 100% on renewable energy, with 20 percent generated from its 4.2MW solar PV system and the remaining share procured solely from renewable sources, moving MMPC closer to its carbon neutrality goals. Other initiatives include a 100-hectare reforestation project, achieving plastic packaging neutrality for all sold vehicles, and smart innovations such as redesigning ovens to consume less fuel and introducing a waste heat recovery system to reduce energy consumption and eliminate boiler dependency.
MMPC’s efforts align with the Philippine government’s Climate Change Commission call for collaboration between public and private sectors to invest in renewable energy, climate-resilient infrastructure, and green technologies to reduce emissions, drive economic growth, and create jobs.
The E³ Award affirms MMPC’s leadership in green manufacturing and sustainable growth, demonstrating that profitability and environmental responsibility can thrive together.
