Movem Electric, Inc., the fully owned electric mobility arm of Meralco, has partnered with property giant Megaworld Corporation to electrify its Citylink bus fleet—marking a major step toward cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable transport solutions in key urban developments.
The collaboration officially kicked off at McKinley Hill in Taguig City, where Megaworld deployed its first e-bus in April. A second unit is set for rollout in Newport City, Pasay, this December, with additional deployments planned across Uptown Bonifacio and Megaworld townships in the Visayas. A total of nine more e-buses are scheduled to be introduced by 2026.
Under this initiative, Movem’s e-buses will integrate into CityLink Coach Services Inc.’s regular operations, serving residents, workers, and commuters traveling to and from Megaworld’s high-density communities. Each unit can carry 24 seated and 11 standing passengers and will gradually replace traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) buses as part of a phased transition.
Movem is also set to install EV charging infrastructure to ensure efficient fleet management, reduced downtime, and seamless day-to-day operations—critical components in modernizing urban mobility systems.
Megaworld Head of Estate Management Don Earl Caagbay emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative, “This partnership is a vital step toward building sustainable townships across the Philippines. Providing innovative mobility solutions is central to that mission, and this collaboration with Movem is just the beginning of making that vision a reality.”
With both companies sharing a long-term commitment to green mobility, the partnership aims to significantly cut carbon emissions, reduce noise pollution, and deliver a more comfortable commuting experience for thousands of daily passengers. It also positions Megaworld as one of the early movers in large-scale transport electrification within private developments.

As demand for sustainable mobility rapidly grows, the Movem–Megaworld collaboration sets a model for other large estate developers and commercial hubs seeking to future-proof their transport systems.
