The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reaffirmed its commitment to accelerate the country’s transition to sustainable mobility during the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit held from October 23 to 25, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.
With the theme “Charge Ahead, Ignite the EVolution,” this year’s summit underscored the growing momentum of electric vehicles (EVs) as a practical and mainstream choice for consumers and businesses.
At the event, Meralco presented its Electric Vehicle Adoption Program, a key initiative supporting the shift toward cleaner, smarter, and more energy-resilient transportation. The program focuses on three core areas: enabling reliable EV charging infrastructure, transitioning Meralco’s fleet to electric vehicles, and operating commercial charging stations while forging partnerships to promote EV adoption nationwide.
In his welcome message, Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho emphasized that electric mobility is no longer a distant vision but a reality transforming the way Filipinos move and power their lives. He said every charging station built, every vehicle electrified, and every consumer who makes the shift to electric represents real change happening now. Aperocho reaffirmed Meralco’s commitment to “ignite the EVolution” by strengthening the grid, powering EV infrastructure, and leading by example through its own electrified fleet.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration among policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders to advance e-mobility beyond infrastructure through sound policies, innovation, and public awareness. According to Aperocho, Meralco continues to support emerging technologies, bridge barriers, and promote cooperation through platforms like the Philippine EV Summit, which unites government, business, and industry stakeholders in driving the country’s transition to electric mobility.
Meralco further demonstrated its commitment through an exhibit showcasing home and commercial EV charging solutions and energy programs designed to make EV ownership more practical and accessible for Filipinos.
