Globe has been named the winner of Best ESG Practices in Telecommunications (Philippines) at the 2025 International Finance Awards (IFA), recognizing the company’s leadership in advancing sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth in the country’s digital landscape.
Presented by International Finance Magazine based in London, the annual awards celebrate executive excellence and innovation across industries such as banking, energy, logistics, and telecommunications. With a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, the IFA has become a global benchmark for responsible corporate leadership.
The recognition highlights Globe’s sustained efforts to integrate environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance into its business operations. “This award reflects the collective dedication of the entire Globe team to integrate environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance into everything we do,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
Globe is the first publicly listed Philippine company with a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated net-zero goal by 2050. The company increased its renewable energy use to 24 percent, powering 36 facilities nationwide this year, and has implemented over 38,000 green network solutions over the past decade, including the rollout of EcoSIMs, recyclable packaging, and eSIMs to reduce plastic waste.
Aligned with its social commitments, Globe continues to promote digital inclusion by expanding connectivity in underserved areas through Globe Fiber Prepaid and advancing digital literacy through its Digital Thumbprint Program and Senior Digizen Program. It also works to protect consumers by blocking scam and spam messages and harmful online content, while supporting communities through the Hapag Movement, which focuses on hunger alleviation and child nutrition.
In its supply chain, Globe enforces ESG-linked vendor policies that promote human rights, ethical conduct, and environmental accountability. Its Sustainability Academy trained 160 vendors on sustainable practices in 2024.
The company also upholds strong corporate governance, having received the Five Golden Arrow Award for three consecutive years, maintained an ‘AA’ ESG rating from MSCI, and remained in the FTSE4Good Index for the past decade.
Globe’s sustainability leadership has also earned international recognition, being included in Time and Statista’s Most Sustainable Companies 2025 and named Most Sustainable and Most Active Mobile Network for the Environment (Philippines) at the 2025 Standard Insights Consumer Choice Awards.
The 2025 International Finance Award affirms Globe’s role as a sustainability trailblazer in Philippine telecommunications, demonstrating how business innovation can drive both economic growth and environmental responsibility.
