Mr. Freeze Tube Ice Inc. has tapped MPower, the retail electricity supplier (RES) of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), to power several of its ice plants across Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Bulacan under the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).
Through this expanded collaboration, Mr. Freeze has aggregated multiple ice plant accounts to participate in the contestable electricity market, enabling bulk power purchasing and operational efficiencies. RAP allows smaller electricity end-users to combine accounts within the same franchise area and access competitive rates from retail electricity suppliers.
“Our business has always been built on strong relationships, and we’re happy to continue growing with Meralco and MPower,” said Philip Gerald Santos, President and Chief Operating Officer of Mr. Freeze. “We look forward to sustainable growth and continued success as we power our ice plants, and we’re excited for this new journey with MPower by our side.”
This move highlights Mr. Freeze’s commitment to operational efficiency and energy cost management, while reinforcing Meralco and MPower’s shared goal of empowering businesses through innovative energy solutions.
“This partnership is not just about business; it’s about the shared goals we believe in: sustainability, responsible energy use, and putting the customer first,” said Redel M. Domingo, Meralco First Vice President and Head of MPower. “MPower is more than just a supplier — we’re a partner committed to growing with you and supporting what matters most.”
Mr. Freeze has maintained a long-standing relationship with Meralco, beginning with the energization of its first ice plant in 2005. Under this partnership, MPower will continue to provide competitive energy solutions and high-quality service, supporting the accessibility of programs like RAP for businesses seeking efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability.
