A total of 277 individuals graduated from the joint Computer Literacy Program of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Fil-Chi Love and Care Foundation, Inc.
The month-long training equipped participants—including 35 APECO employees—with essential computer skills such as internet use, word processing, troubleshooting, and digital communication, strengthening both community employability and the ecozone’s workforce readiness.
“Power precedes progress, but progress is only possible when we have a ready and competent workforce,” said APECO President and CEO Atty. Gil G. Taway IV, emphasizing the agency’s dual role of building infrastructure and cultivating local talent.
TESDA and Fil-Chi Foundation provided laptops, desktops, and technical support, while APECO offered accommodations, logistics, and administrative assistance.
Taway highlighted that the initiative aligns with APECO’s investor-readiness strategy and supports Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy, noting ongoing collaborations with MECO, TECO, and potential Taiwanese locators.
The program positions host communities in Dinalungan, Casiguran, and Dicadi as a digitally competent talent pool, ready to thrive in a tech-driven economy.
