The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) is reopening its newly renovated Villas and Residences this October, marking a strategic push to position Northern Aurora as both a premier investment destination and a rising eco-tourism hub.

Nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and Casiguran Cove, the ₱44-million redevelopment features 20 hotel rooms at the APECO Residences, seven two-bedroom Executive Villas, and a three-bedroom Executive Kubo—offering modern amenities in the heart of unspoiled natural beauty.

APECO President and CEO Atty. Gil G. Taway IV said the project reflects the agency’s goal of making the ecozone a unique “work-play” destination.

“These new facilities are more than just accommodations—they are a signal to investors that APECO is open, prepared, and evolving. We aim to create an ecozone where business meets lifestyle, and where visitors and investors alike can experience the best of what the Pacific corridor has to offer,” Taway noted.

Beyond tourism, the Villas and Residences strengthen APECO’s appeal to both foreign and local investors who seek convenience and work-life balance. Business leaders can conduct operations, meet with partners, and relax within the same ecozone—surrounded by beaches, forests, and heritage landmarks.

At full occupancy, the facilities are projected to generate enough income to cover APECO’s ₱57-million annual personnel services budget, creating a sustainable revenue stream that reduces reliance on national funding. The project is also expected to boost local livelihoods by supporting small enterprises in food, transport, handicrafts, and guided tours.

Improved connectivity will further enhance the zone’s draw. The APECO Airstrip now accommodates chartered flights, with a full Permit to Operate targeted by year-end—paving the way for future commercial routes. Meanwhile, landscaping and site development, featuring native plants and pedestrian-friendly spaces, highlight APECO’s commitment to eco-friendly tourism.

Guests staying at the Villas and Residences will have easy access to Aurora’s hidden gems, including Casapsapan Beach, Motiong Beach, Tibu Tidal Pool, Dialang Falls, Ontok Lighthouse, and the 419-year-old Ermita Church.

In addition, APECO has begun redeveloping the JPEC Buildings into the APECO Legacy Villas, funded with ₱20 million in 2024 budget savings, to expand capacity and meet expected demand.

With its mix of modern facilities, natural beauty, and strategic location, APECO is reinventing itself as a self-sustaining ecozone where business, nature, and leisure converge—a true gateway to the Pacific corridor.
