A landmark Tourism & Hospitality Education Summit will take place on September 10, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, bringing together government leaders, industry stakeholders, educators, and students to address pressing challenges shaping the future of the country’s tourism sector.

The summit comes at a critical time following the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) second-year report, which underscored systemic issues in Philippine education—including outdated curricula and persistent skills mismatches—that directly impact the supply of qualified talent for the fast-growing tourism and hospitality industry.

Designed to bridge the gap between academic training and enterprise needs, the summit will feature high-level discussions on the future of work, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), the rising role of micro-credentials, and strategies for preparing a new generation of professionals for an Industry 5.0 workforce.

Key insights will be provided by leaders from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), alongside major industry associations such as the Philippine Association of Convention/Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers, Inc. (PACEOS) and the Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI).

Moving beyond dialogue, the summit will mark the launch of the Tourism Education Network or Alliance—a collaborative platform committed to curriculum innovation, professional development, and evidence-based policy-making to strengthen workforce readiness and ensure the long-term sustainability of the tourism and hospitality sectors.

The Tourism & Hospitality Education Summit is co-located with the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF).
