One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the social development arm of the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has reaffirmed its advocacy of empowering communities and supporting nation-building by extending assistance to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
In partnership with Meralco’s Networks and Information, Communication, Technology, and Transformation (ICTT) offices, OMF recently turned over computer sets to the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center (PGMC) and the AFP Reserve Command (RESCOM).
Commodore Luidegar Casis, Chief of the AFP PGMC, welcomed the donation, noting that the equipment will significantly improve their services to AFP retirees who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the country.
“These desktop units will help enhance our productivity and improve the delivery of services to our pensioners and their beneficiaries,” Casis said.

Col. Jose Tadeo Javier II, Deputy Commander of the AFP RESCOM, likewise expressed gratitude and emphasized the broader value of the initiative.
“Without a doubt, these donations will serve as an outstanding example of what public and private partnership can achieve when the private sector collaborates with the military in a meaningful and strategic way. This will become a constant reminder that security, development, and progress are shared responsibilities,” he said.
Meralco Networks Head Froilan Savet stressed that the donation goes beyond equipment—it reflects Meralco’s continuing support for those who defend the nation.
OMF President Jeffrey Tarayao echoed this sentiment, underscoring the Foundation’s commitment to social responsibility and advocacy.
“This initiative is our way of expressing our thanks to our military reservists and veterans who show selfless dedication to serve our country. We are very proud to support them as they continue to protect the Filipino people,” Tarayao said.
Through this initiative, OMF reinforces its mission of bridging the private sector and institutions that safeguard the nation, highlighting its enduring belief that nation-building is a shared responsibility.
