In an era of rapid technological disruption, Malaysia is convening fintech leaders and policymakers across ASEAN and beyond for MyFintech Week (MyFW) 2025, set from August 4 to 7 in Kuala Lumpur, organizers said in a news release.

The flagship event comes as Malaysia chairs ASEAN this year, signaling a push for deeper regional collaboration in shaping a future-ready, interconnected financial ecosystem.

Organized by Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, and key fintech and digital economy bodies, MyFW 2025 carries the theme “Ideate, Innovate, Co-create: Shaping the Future of Finance.” The four-day conference will feature high-level dialogues, hackathons, and masterclasses aimed at decoding the forces transforming finance—from artificial intelligence and blockchain to Islamic finance and climate-based solutions.

“MyFW 2025 is a whole-of-nation approach to policy alignment and ecosystem development that will foster responsible innovation,” said Dato’ Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Key themes include:

  • Finance for the Future, exploring digital assets, AI, and open finance;
  • Finance for Change, focusing on inclusive, Islamic, and sustainable finance;
  • Finance for a Resilient Ecosystem, addressing cybersecurity and digital talent.

The event boasts an impressive lineup of speakers including Dr. Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek finance minister; Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; and Chia Der Jiun, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

“MyFintech Week is not just a conversation starter—it’s a launchpad for actionable insight,” said Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi, Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia.

The conference is expected to be a pivotal opportunity for ASEAN fintech leaders, startups, and regulators to co-create solutions that support a more inclusive and digitally secure financial future.
