Every Filipino has a CDO Foodsphere Inc. story.

A colleague packs San Marino Corned Tuna for weekend camps. A friend stocks Highlands Corned Beef in her condo pantry. This writer found comfort in a Crispy Chicken Burger during the stress of high school exam week.

They may seem like simple, even forgettable, moments—but they’re powerful reminders of how CDO has become part of our everyday lives. From agahan (breakfast) to hapunan (dinner), the brand doesn’t just deliver Filipino favorites—it delivers the warm, familiar feeling of home.

“Back on June 25, 1975, when my husband Pepe (Jose) and I first started, it wasn’t about building a big company,” shared founder Corazon Dayro-Ong at CDO’s 50th anniversary celebration. “My dream was much simpler: to offer great food that, no matter where you are, brings the warmth of home.”

That dream began with a modest loan from a rural bank and homemade meat products sold from their own home. Five decades later, CDO has grown into one of the Philippines’ most trusted food brands.

Now led by President and CEO Jerome Ong, the company is embracing its next chapter with optimism and purpose.

“We’re entering a new and exciting chapter: a time of transformation, a time of building better within and beyond,” he said. “We believe that success should benefit everyone—our people, our partners, our customers, and our communities.”

Staying true to its roots, CDO continues to bring its core values, what it calls the “DNA of ABCs”: an Attitude of gratitude, Belief in our vision, and Collaboration with partners, suppliers, and customers.

Part of this vision is the company’s corporate social responsibility arm, Odyssey Foundation Inc. (OFI), which uplifts marginalized communities through programs in health (kalusugan), livelihood (kabuhayan), environment (kalikasan), and education (karunungan).

“What fueled our growth was more than just the vision of our founders or the hard work of our team,” Ong said. “It was, in large part, the strength of our partnership with all of you.”

To mark this golden milestone, CDO also partnered with BAYONGciaga to gift handwoven bags, crafted with love by Filipino artisans, to guests at the event.

Whether it’s baon for your child, snacks for a weekend road trip, or a spontaneous midnight craving, products like CDO Karne Norte, Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino, San Marino Corned Tuna, Idol Cheesedog, CDO Premium Holiday Ham, and Danes Cheese have been with you on the journey.

“We did it together,” Dayro-Ong said. “Fifty years later, I’m very grateful that we are still here, still doing what we love, and still serving Filipino families. What makes tonight meaningful isn’t just the number of years we’ve reached, it’s the chance to be with the people who helped us realize our dreams. Thank you for growing with us. Thank you for staying with us. This celebration is for all of us. To our partners, family, and friends…welcome home.”

Cheers to 50 years of CDO, and to more meaningful meals and moments to come.
