The Philippines spotlighted its appeal as a rising hub for sustainable, ESG-aligned, and tax-efficient investments in Southeast Asia at a high-level investment forum in London, part of the Philippine Investment Mission.

Led by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Asian Consulting Group (ACG), in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP), IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), and HSBC, the event brought together key government and private sector leaders to promote the country’s competitive advantages.

Among the featured speakers were Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr., PEZA Director General Theo Panga, BCCP Executive Chairman Chris Nelson, ACG Chief Tax Advisor Mon Abrea, and IBPAP COO Celeste Ilagan. They delivered a unified message: the Philippines is ready to lead in climate-smart, inclusive, and sustainable growth.

In a media release, ACG’s Mon Abrea outlined the benefits of the Philippines’ evolving tax framework under the proposed CREATE MORE Act, emphasizing incentives designed to attract long-term investment. These include:

    • Up to 40 years of tax incentives,
    • 100% additional deductions for R&D, training, and energy costs,
    • Zero VAT and duties on capital equipment, and
    • Long-term PEZA visa privileges for foreign professionals.

Abrea also underscored opportunities in ESG-driven sectors, encouraging global investors to explore tourism, eco-resorts, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure as entry points into the Philippine market.

The London event is part of ACG’s 2025 International Tax and Investment Roadshow, which aims to promote sustainable foreign direct investment while safeguarding MSMEs and local exporters. The roadshow will visit more than 25 global cities.

A key feature of the roadshow is the launch of Abrea’s second book, Reimagining the World: Without Climate Change, which will debut in Washington DC, New York, Madrid, Paris, and London in August, with a special event at Oxford University where the book was first conceived. The new volume builds on his earlier work, Without Corruption, and expands his vision for global reform, drawing from his current studies in international tax and global policy at Duke University.

ACG is a leading tax strategy and advisory firm in the Philippines that supports multinational corporations, MSMEs, and government agencies in developing compliant, investor-ready structures aligned with global best practices.
