Globe has reinforced its network presence in Sarangani with more than 40 cell sites now serving the province, enhancing connectivity in key agricultural, coastal, and upland areas. This broader network coverage supports the digital needs of residents, farmers, students, and entrepreneurs across one of Mindanao’s most economically dynamic provinces.
Sarangani is a vital contributor to Mindanao’s agri-aqua economy as it delivered an impressive 160 thousand metric tons of corn in 2024, maintaining output despite less land—thanks to an 11.8% yield gain. Coupled with thriving aquaculture in Glan, this makes the province a dual-engine powerhouse in Mindanao’s agri-aqua economy.
While coconut farming and aquaculture—especially shrimp and bangus—continue to provide livelihoods for thousands of families. Growth in tourism, construction, and small businesses has also underscored the need for more dependable digital infrastructure.
“There’s real momentum in Sarangani, and we want to make sure our network keeps pace with the community,” said Al Siao, Network Technical Lead at Globe. “From remote barangays to tourist hotspots, we’re building a network that can support every facet of life in the province.”
“This isn’t just about signal bars—it’s about real impact,” Siao added. “A student can now attend online classes, a mother can video-call her child abroad, and a fisherman can check prices, sell catch online. In tourism towns, stronger signal means local merchants can accept digital payments, promote their homestays or food stalls online, and serve visitors better—turning connectivity into real income for families. That’s the kind of everyday connection we’re enabling.”
During SarBay 2025, Globe also deployed its Cellsite on Wheels (COW) in Glan to support the surge in mobile activity, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for thousands of festival-goers, vendors, and local businesses.
Globe is actively enhancing 4G coverage and user experience across Sarangani, with ongoing network upgrades aimed at making everyday access smoother for residents, students, and small business owners.
