President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. today launched a program offering free Sunday rides for three companions of each paying passenger on Metro Manila’s major train lines.
The “Pamilya Pass 1+3 Promo” will be available on the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and LRT-2) starting June 1, according to a government release.
To mark the launch, the President, along with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and their sons Ferdinand Alexander, Joseph Simon, and William Vincent, boarded an MRT-3 train at the GMA-Kamuning Station in Quezon City.

He encouraged families to take advantage of the program, which aims to promote stronger family ties.
“In Filipino culture, Sundays are for family, for loved ones—for bonding. That’s why we created the 1+3 program,” Marcos said in brief remarks.
He said the program’s goal is to allow more Filipinos to spend meaningful time with their families, especially those burdened by the daily grind of work and long commutes.
“This is for families and friends to have the chance to be together. Hopefully, this gives our fellow Filipinos the opportunity to truly feel what Sundays are meant for,” he added.
Marcos also acknowledged the challenges faced by commuters who often sacrifice time with their families because of long working hours and arduous travel.
