In a move to boost rural development and position the country as a top player in global agricultural trade, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has teamed up with the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) to make Guimaras mangoes more accessible—both at home and abroad.
In a landmark memorandum of understanding signed during the Manggahan Festival on May 20, DTI and PHLPost launched a direct ordering and delivery system that links mango farmers in Guimaras straight to consumers in Metro Manila.
Customers can now order through a QR code and have the mangoes delivered fresh via PHLPost at a fixed rate of ₱470.
“This partnership with PHLPost is more than just a logistics solution—it’s about bringing the pride of Guimaras straight to Filipino homes,” said Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque. “In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas, we are strengthening local industries and making sure our hardworking farmers earn what they truly deserve.”
Postmaster General Luis Carlos echoed the sentiment, saying this initiative would empower local producers through better access to premium markets.

But the DTI’s ambitions for Guimaras mangoes go far beyond Metro Manila. Under the leadership of its Supply Chain and Logistics Group and Regional Operations Group, the department is actively transforming the mango into a global export through multi-stakeholder partnerships with the Provincial Government of Guimaras, farmers’ cooperatives, and logistics firms.
With its Geographic Indication (GI) certification—the first and only of its kind for a Philippine agricultural product—the Guimaras mango is being positioned as a premium product internationally. “The GI status speaks volumes about its quality, heritage, and market potential,” Roque said. “This milestone reflects a vision where no farmer is left behind and every Filipino takes pride in our land’s bounty.”
To further elevate its market presence, the DTI is collaborating with e-commerce platforms like Shopee and logistics providers like LBC and FAST Logistics to integrate mango sellers into digital marketplaces. It is also supporting private farms like Guimaras Wonders Farm and Koko Mojo Mango Farm in reaching new frontiers through strategic logistics partnerships and participation in trade expos such as IFEX Philippines 2025, organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).
From PHLPost trucks delivering to Manila households to premium displays at global food fairs, Guimaras mangoes are now riding a wave of innovation, logistics modernization, and digital transformation.
“This is more than trade—it’s about honoring tradition, empowering communities, and creating shared prosperity,” Secretary Roque said.
