One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the corporate social responsibility arm of the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), together with the Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) of the 19th Philippine Congress, PLDT-Smart Foundation, and Metro Pacific Investments Foundation came together to establish the Bagong Bayaning Mandirigma Casualty Care Center (BBM CCC) established at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Medical Center, also known as the V. Luna General Hospital, the premier tertiary level military hospital in the Philippines, located in Quezon City.

Filipino soldiers wounded in action can now receive world-class health services at the BBM CCC which has a minor operating room, trauma and wound care center, and patients’ room and wards that can serve about 405 patients a month. The Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation (MIESCOR) Logistics provided renovation and construction services to prepare the area for this facility.

The BBM CCC is a reminder of what collaboration can do to safeguard those who put their lives on the line to serve the country, said Brigadier General (BGEN) Jonna D. Dalaguit, Commander of the AFP Medical Center.
House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez welcomed the project, saying: “With the advanced medical care and specialized support for cancer patients, this center’s lifeline ensures that those who stand in the frontlines are not left behind when they face personal battles.”
The CSFI, led by its chairperson Tingog Partylist Representative Yedda K. Romualdez, hailed the historic partnership for the CSFI and MVP Group’s shared vision of quality and improved military health services for Filipino soldiers, calling it a “fitting recognition for the people whose lives are on the frontlines.” Meanwhile, CSFI President Rosemary “Baby” Arenas said the project is an assurance for Filipino soldiers that they would be in good hands.
OMF President Jeffrey O. Tarayao underscored the importance of bringing life-saving medical care to Filipino military personnel. “Our mission to spread light and hope includes those who also bring us security and peace in times of uncertainties. These brave men and women put everything in the line for every Filipino, and it is only fitting that they receive the best medical care possible as our way of ‘pagmamalasakit’ to our modern-day
heroes.”
The BBM CCC is among the various community relations projects undertaken by OMF. By supporting and building a network of partners across various sectors, OMF implements impactful community development projects addressing the priority needs of communities within the Meralco franchise area.
