MSpectrum, Inc., a wholly owned solar subsidiary of the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has expanded its partnership with Southeast Asia Retail Inc.—the company behind Landers Superstore—through two new solar rooftop projects.
MSpectrum will install a 600-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar rooftop project at Landers Cebu, expected to generate approximately 960,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy every year. This will enable Landers Cebu to reduce 683.71 metric tons in carbon footprint—equivalent to over 31,000 trees planted and more than 2.72 million kilometers reduced in vehicle travel per year.
Meanwhile, MSpectrum will develop a 930-kWp solar rooftop facility at Landers Fairview, projected to generate 1.19 million kWh of clean energy each year. This will result in an estimated reduction of 845.95 metric tons in carbon emissions—equivalent to planting around 38,000 trees and cutting more than 3.37 million kilometers in vehicle travel annually.
“We’re proud to partner with MSpectrum as we take meaningful steps toward becoming more environmentally responsible. Sustainability is a growing priority not just for the company, but for me personally as well. This solar initiative is not only about reducing operational costs, but also about contributing to the country’s efforts in promoting clean energy,” Southeast Asia Retail Chief Operating Officer Pieter Dhoni Lukman said.
“Our commitment goes beyond offering Filipinos quality products from the U.S., Europe, and other countries—we are also dedicated to doing our part for the environment by adopting cleaner, greener solutions like solar power,” he added.
This latest collaboration builds on the strong partnership between the two companies, anchored on a shared vision of clean and sustainable energy. Over the past year, MSpectrum has been working with Southeast Asia Retail to install solar rooftop systems across multiple Landers locations, reflecting their joint commitment to green energy.
“MSpectrum is installing solar power solutions in several Landers’ branches, and today, we proudly add two more—Landers Cebu and Landers Fairview. These installations will significantly help reduce carbon emissions, optimize energy consumption, and generate cost savings that can be reinvested into enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency,” MSpectrum President and CEO Ma. Cecilia M. Domingo said.
“We are honored to support Landers in this important transition and look forward to continuing our partnership as we work toward a more sustainable future,” she added.
With its eight years in the industry, MSpectrum has already installed more than 80 megawatts (MW) of solar rooftop project.
