On April 9, 2025, Ambassador Endo Kazuya attended and delivered a speech at the 83rd Commemoration of the “Araw ng Kagitingan” (Day of Valor) held at the Mount Samat National Shrine in Pilar, Bataan.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro, members of the government and Congress of the Philippines, Governor Jose Garcia of Bataan, veterans, Embassy Officials from the U.S., and others were present at the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Endo paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives and expressed his deep respect for the veterans who have significantly contributed to today’s peace and freedom.

He acknowledged the importance of the Philippines in the current international situation and emphasized the deepening cooperation between Japan and the Philippines in various fields such as security and economy.

Ambassador Endo reiterated Japan’s unwavering commitment as a peace-loving nation, reflecting on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II this year, and expressed a firm commitment to further strengthening the unity of the two countries as well as the three countries among Japan, the Philippines, and the United States for the peace and prosperity of the international community, as next year marks the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations.
