Japan’s Ambassador to the Philippines ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy call on Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on March 18, 2025.

During the courtesy call, they reflected on the friendly relations between Japan and the Philippines, which will mark the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations next year, and reaffirmed the importance of the rule of law shared by both countries.

Chief Justice Gesmundo also expressed his gratitude for the support from Japan to the Philippines, including the construction of the Philippine Judicial Academy Training Center in Tagaytay City and the JICA short-term training program, and both agreed to continue to actively strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the Philippines.
