Philippine-made products were showcased at the Sunshine Island Vibes Fest 2025 in Kaohsiung from February 22 to 23, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said in a news release.
The mission, which promoted ready-to-eat food, snack items, seafood, abaca handicrafts, carpets, and homeware, sought to connect with the 38,000 Filipinos living in Kaohsiung and the broader Taiwanese market.
Organized by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei) in collaboration with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Kaohsiung and DTI Region 5 (DTI-R5), the event highlighted Filipino craftsmanship and local products.
The Philippine pavilion, which was supported by Orgullo Kan Bicol (OKB), PhilExport, and Taiwanese importers, served as a platform for business development and trade promotion, helping participating companies generate trade leads and explore new market opportunities.
The event also featured business-to-business (B2B) engagements with institutional buyers, media coverage, and a special presentation on the abaca industry.

A local market study was also conducted to understand Taiwanese consumer preferences, further positioning Filipino products for export and growth in the region.
The Sunshine Island Vibes Fest 2025 aligns with Taiwan’s New South Bound Policy, which aims to enhance economic cooperation and cultural exchange with Southeast Asian countries.
Key partners included Kaohsiung City, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, and the Thailand Trade and Economic Office.
PTIC-Taipei, the DTI’s trade and investment promotion office in Taiwan, continues to support efforts to strengthen economic ties between the Philippines and Taiwan, facilitating trade and investment opportunities while promoting Philippine-made goods to the international market.
