The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is expediting the nationwide distribution of vehicle plates and driver’s licenses, aiming to complete the process for four-wheel vehicle plates and motorcycle plate distribution by July 2025.
To ensure convenience and compliance, vehicle owners can pick up their plates and licenses at LTO offices or deliver them directly to their homes. With penalties of up to ₱5,000 for failing to attach issued plates, the LTO is streamlining the process to help motorists meet regulations and avoid fines.
Why Timely Plate Attachment Matters
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II underscored the urgency of affixing plate as soon as they are issued. In an interview with Inquirer, he stated, “It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to attach their issued plates immediately after receiving them. Failure to do so could result in penalties.”
