Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuya Endo met with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) officials at his residence on February 12, 2025.
The PSA was represented by Undersecretary of National Statistician, and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D and other senior officials.
During the meeting, they covered a wide-ranging exchange of views on the latest situation and issues surrounding the war-displaced Japanese Descendants in the Philippines, also known as the “Filipino Nikkei-jin.”
Apart from that, Ambassador Endo and the PSA officials also discussed the deepening cooperation between Japan and the Philippines in the field of statistics which is aligned with the Embassy of Japan’s commitment to provide maximum support to as many remaining Filipino Nikkei-jin as possible, enabling them to swiftly restore their Japanese nationality and temporary return to Japan smoothly.
