Filipinos dreaming of an international education experience now have the opportunity to study in one of Europe’s most dynamic and culturally rich countries—Romania.
Through the Romanian Government Scholarships Program 2025, Filipino students can pursue bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees in Romanian universities.
According to a news release from the Embassy of Romania, the program administered by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is open to foreign nationals from non-European Union countries, including the Philippines.
Scholars will not only earn a globally recognized degree but also get the chance to immerse in a new culture, explore Romania’s breathtaking landscapes, and enjoy its vibrant student life, the embassy said.
Romania is gaining recognition as an ideal destination for higher education due to its high-quality academic institutions, affordable living costs, and excellent digital infrastructure.
Filipino students will also find a welcoming environment, with existing Filipino communities, restaurants, and shops in Romania’s major cities.
Scholarship details:
- It covers tuition, accommodation, and a monthly stipend.
- It is available for all fields of study except medicine, dental medicine, and pharmacy.
- Undergraduate and master’s programs are taught in Romanian, with a one-year preparatory language course for non-speakers.
- Doctoral students may study in Romanian, English, French, or German, depending on the university.
How to apply? Aspiring scholars must submit their applications via the Study in Romania platform by March 12, 2025. Only applications sent through this platform will be considered. Successful candidates will be notified via email by June 30, 2025.
