The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) is strengthening its support for British businesses in the Philippines by providing guidance on tax compliance and regulatory matters.

As part of this effort, BCCP has formalized a collaboration with tax consulting firm Asian Consulting Group (ACG) through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on February 10.

BCCP Chairman Chris Nelson, ACG CEO Raymond Abrea, and ACG President and COO Hazel Joy Mendoza signed the agreement, reinforcing the Chamber’s commitment to making it easier for British investors to navigate the local business landscape.

“This partnership with ACG is a remarkable step in further encouraging British companies to do business in the Philippines. We have been consistently advocating for it through our ease of doing business initiatives,” Nelson said.

As an official tax consultant partner of BCCP, ACG will help the Chamber’s members stay informed about key tax reforms and regulatory changes. BCCP has actively promoted the Philippines as an investment destination, backing major legislative measures such as the Ease of Paying Taxes Act and the CREATE MORE Act, which seek to enhance the business climate for foreign investors.

Nelson commended the government’s recent efforts to improve the country’s investment landscape, citing the Chamber’s ongoing advocacy through events like “Forecasting 2025: UK-PH Economic Perspectives.”

Building on this momentum, BCCP will host “Charting the Path to Growth: Accelerating Ease of Doing Business in the Philippines” on February 20, 2025, in Makati City.

The forum will focus on streamlining business regulations, tax incentives, and investment-friendly reforms. Government officials, including Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Secretary Ernesto Perez, Board of Investments (BOI) Investment Assistance Center Executive Director Atty. Bobby Fondevilla, and Philippine Economic Zone Authority Deputy Director General for Finance and Admin Hon. Maria Veronica Magsino, are expected to provide key updates.

“Now that we are one of ACG’s tax consultant partners, we, at the British Chamber, will not only represent the growing British businesses in the Philippines but also guide them through tax education that ensures transparency, efficiency, and growth,” Nelson said.
