Globe has successfully obtained a new certification for ISO 22301:2019, the international standard for Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS), highlighting its proactive approach in safeguarding critical operations and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery in times of crisis.

The new certification, valid until 2027, underscores Globe’s commitment to maintaining a robust and resilient business framework capable of withstanding and swiftly recovering from natural disasters and unforeseen business disruptions. Globe has maintained this certification since 2012.

“This achievement is a clear indication of Globe’s constant state of readiness to respond to challenges. Our efficient teams, coupled with effective processes, guarantee the delivery of essential products and services to our customers whatever the situation may be,” said Carlo Puno, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Treasurer, and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at Globe.

The ISO 22301 standard provides a comprehensive framework for organizations to plan, implement, monitor, and continuously improve their BCMS. Aligned with this framework, Globe’s comprehensive Business Continuity Management Policy outlines its dedication to ensuring the safety of employees and their families and protecting customer data, transactions, and infrastructure reliability.

Since the Philippines consistently rank among the most vulnerable to natural disasters worldwide, as noted in the 2023 World Risk Index, Globe’s preparedness strategy encompasses a wide array of technological solutions and processes.

Pre-disaster measures include retrofitting towers to meet the National Structural Code of the Philippines, and fortifying the network with redundant transport facilities and enhanced backup power at key sites.

The company also leverages its Cell Broadcast Systems (CBS) to disseminate geo-targeted SMS warnings and alerts to customers, aligning with the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act,  to keep communities informed and prepared.

Post-disaster recovery is strengthened by Globe’s Rapid Deployment Solutions, including Network-in-a-Box (2G/4G), Cell Site on Wheels (COW), Cellsite at Less Footprint (CALF), Online Management Systems, and Tower on Wheels (TOW) that are either link either via microwave or satellite towards Globe’s central office in order to deliver network coverage and support Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging activities in disaster-hit areas.

Globe’s ISO 22301 new certification demonstrates its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of business continuity management, ensuring that it remains a reliable and resilient partner in the face of any disruption.
