Cognizant of the strong relationship between the Philippines and Japan, and the need to deepen cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque on December 19, and exchanged views on how Japan-Philippines economic relations can take new heights.

Ambassador Endo noted that Japan is one of the major sources of investment for the Philippines. He also expressed his hope that the effective implementation of the CREATE MORE Act, enacted in November, will contribute to an improved business environment. Further, Ambassador Endo conveyed his anticipation that the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, scheduled for April next year, will foster not only people-to-people exchanges but also business exchanges.

During their meeting, Ambassador Endo and Secretary Roque reaffirmed their commitment to continuing to cooperate in deepening bilateral economic relations between Japan and the Philippines.
