READY TO RESPOND 24/7.
Meralco linecrews and personnel will be on standby throughout the holiday season, ready to respond to any possible electricity service concern.
These unsung heroes will remain on standby 24/7 throughout the holiday season to keep the lights on for its 8 million customers and respond to any possible electricity service concern.
“Meralco crews and personnel are ready to respond 24/7 to any possible electricity service concern that may arise during the Christmas break,” Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga assured customers of the distribution utility.
KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON.
Ronniel Reyes of Meralco is among the many hardworking and dedicated personnel of the company who are responsible for ensuring a bright Christmas.
As the largest distribution utility in the Philippines, Meralco plays a vital role in keeping the spirit of Christmas alive by ensuring the delivery of reliable and stable electricity service.
Making this mission possible are the hardworking crews and personnel of Meralco such as Ronniel Reyes—who has been with the company for 18 years.
Starting out as a linecrew and now as a general foreman at Meralco, Reyes is among the many men and women of Meralco who are responsible for ensuring a bright Christmas for all. From conducting maintenance and upgrading activities to leading power restoration efforts, Reyes has been at the forefront of delivering Meralco’s essential electricity service.
“I’m very proud to be a part of Meralco—a company that provides public service and values our contributions. It’s not easy work—climbing tall poles and working with live wires every day—but it’s worth it,” Reyes said in Filipino.
Recalling the time he spent Christmas away from his family to help in power restoration efforts in Visayas, Reyes beamed with pride as he described the fulfillment he felt of being able to help his fellow Filipinos.
“The happiest part for me is finishing a restoration project safely and successfully. There’s a sense of fulfillment when we return home as a complete and safe team after the work is done. Meralco also prioritizes safety, and because of the training and equipment, we are always properly trained to do our work,” he said.
Reyes is only one of many dedicated crews of Meralco who represent the modern day heroes of the country.
“To my fellow linecrews, I always say, study your craft well, pray, and remember that your family is waiting for you at home. Every job we do is for the country,” Reyes said.
This holiday season, as Filipinos gather around the Christmas tree, share meals, and bask in the glow of Christmas lights, may each household be reminded of the sacrifice, hardwork, and dedication of the people—like the linecrews of Meralco—who help make Christmas a season of joy for all.
