In response to recent low scores on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Filipino educators are increasingly turning to innovative solutions such as Schoology Learning to bridge learning gaps exacerbated by COVID-19, PowerSchool said in a news release.
Schoology, a dynamic learning management system that connects people, content, and systems, is designed as an online extension of a teacher’s classroom, hosting announcements, lessons, discussions, and other resources to keep students engaged and informed.
Francis Jim B. Tuscano, EdTech Coordinator & CLE Department Chair at Xavier School-San Juan, stressed the importance of continued use of technological integration following the return to on-site learning.
He mentioned Xavier School’s use cases with Schoology Learning including course management and delivery, student engagement and collaboration, assessment and grading, flexible learning options, parental involvement, and professional development for teachers.
Tuscano gave a presentation at the recent Innovation in Education summit held in Metro Manila, a gathering focused on the transformative potential of educational technology.
Hosted by PowerSchool in partnership with REX Education, the international summit drew more than 130 education leaders from across the Philippines to explore the future of education through technological solutions, including artificial intelligence.
PowerSchool, a leading global provider of K-12 education software supporting 60 million students worldwide, highlighted its Schoology platform as well as its new AI-powered assistant, PowerBuddy, which is designed to enhance curriculum delivery, data analysis, and student engagement.
