San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is sending food assistance to families across 14 provinces hit hard by severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang has directed SMC business units to expedite the delivery of essential food items to the hardest-hit areas, including communities in the Bicol Region where over 30,000 people were forced to evacuate due to severe flooding.
Working with local government units and leveraging its extensive distribution network nationwide, SMC is sending truckloads of food to areas where stores are closed and residents are struggling. This includes parts of Albay province, where flooding and lahar have disrupted daily life.
“Our priority is to get aid to those in critical need as quickly as possible,” said Ang.
He added: “Our San Miguel Foundation is coordinating closely with local officials and our distributors to ensure these essential food items reach those communities fastest.”
Millions worth of food donations are being delivered to the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Quezon, Laguna, Batangas, Isabela, La Union, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Quirino, Ifugao, Eastern Samar, and Northern Samar.
Ang expressed sympathy for those impacted by the storm and reaffirmed SMC’s commitment to providing continued support to help them recover.
