Twelve stations of the MRT-7 in Quezon City are set for partial operations in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the Tala Station in Caloocan Station will be operational by year 2026, Transportation Undersecretary Jeremy Regino said Wednesday.
Responding to the query of ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro during the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) 2025 budget, Regino said the North Avenue Station up to Quirino Station will be up and running next year.
“Magkakaroon na po tayo ng partial operations next year po,” he said
San Jose Station in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, meanwhile, is scheduled to be serviceable by 2027 or 2028, according to the transport executive.
“‘Yung San Jose Station ang best case scenario po natin is 2027. We’ll extend to 2028 on a worst case scenario,” Usec. Regino said.
The 22-kilometer MRT-7 consists of 14 stations: Quezon North Avenue Joint Station, Quezon Memorial Circle, University Avenue, Tandang Sora, Don Antonio, Batasan, Manggahan, Doña Carmen, Regalado, Mindanao Avenue, Quirino, Sacred Heart, Tala, and San Jose del Monte.
Once in full operation, the MRT-7 will reduce travel time from Quezon City to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan to only 35 minutes.
The railway system is expected to carry 300,000 passengers in its inaugural year of operation
