The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines is set to host the 6th installment of its Trade & Connect series–aimed at highlighting various sectors in the country, titled, “Redefining the F&B Industry: Emerging Trends and Market Opportunities” on 28 August 2024 at The Bevvy. The event will be focusing on the food & beverage (F&B) industry and identifying the latest innovations, sustainable practices, and investment opportunities.

Among its venue and media partners are The Bevvy — Don Revy Philippines, Inc. and The Philippine Business and News. The speakers include key players in the industry from Jollibee Foods Corporation Global Sustainability Director Elise Veloso, Don Revy Philippines Inc. President & Managing Director Jose Vega, and other F&B industry movers and shakers.

In his recent interview, BCCP Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson noted that, “For this month, we’ll also do a key focus on food and beverage. We aim to highlight the amount of investment UK companies and business and opportunities to bring new companies in the industry. We’ve been working with the Philippines in terms of food inflation, which is a key factor in the supply, particularly in the export of UK pork.”

The British Chamber has consistently promoted the industry by hosting the Food and Beverage Virtual Trade Mission on 15 September 2022 in partnership with Kent County Council–highlighting market opportunities in the Philippines that await UK companies.

On 09 May 2024, the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco emphasized the gastronomy tourism as one of the key priorities of the administration as outlined in the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2023-2028 noting how food is an integral part of establishing a dynamic and cultural approach towards multidimensional tourism to achieve economic growth.
