Gin is in and that is something that we cannot deny!
Hence, the annual celebration of the World Gin Day that the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines brought the best and finest gins all the way from the UK.
And four UK companies took part of the annual World Gin Day last June 27, and these are G&I Spirit Group Limited, Roehill Springs, Spirit of Trent, and Skywave Gin.
Held at the Dusit Thani, Makati, these UK gin brands showcased 10 newly infused flavours which the guests relished at the BCCP event.
In an interview with THEPHILBIZNEWS, Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson shared that the 11th stint of BCCP’s World Gin Day was remarkable.
“This year’s WGD celebration was extra special because of our event partners, PMFTC, Smart, and Ginebra San Miguel Inc. featuring its 1834 Premium Distilled Gin — showcasing the rich botanicals and unique flavors of the Philippines,” Nelson said.
Describing the UK gins as bold, smooth, and unique, Nelson added that these new UK gin brands who sent their sample products are “very keen on exploring the Philippine market.”
A boost of (gin) booze, mate
- G&I Spirit Group Ltd. – Established in 2017, this British brand avoids the “burn sensation” in their products, mild tanginess in a mixer, straight or cocktail.
- Skywave Gin – Their Signature London Dry Gin is officially an award-winning product, recognized as the “World’s Best Contemporary London Dry Gin”. With 13 botanicals worldwide in each batch, such a process leads to a fabulous, full-flavoured mouth feel.
- Spirit of Trent – Ingredients used are made by the traditional method of copper pot distillation in small batches with fine quality — where selected botanicals are combined only with pure water and alcohol.
- Roehill Springs – Scotland’s Best London Dry Gin was voted in the World Gin Awards 2022. This small artisan Distillery is a family-run business at the farms of Newtack, Crossroads, Grange, and Keith.
Moreover, among the selection of the featured British gin brands, the crowd’s favorite was the Spirit of Trent – Pomegranate flavour. Its pomegranate scent compliments its distinguished aroma, with a dash of balanced herb botanicals — giving an oozing kick yet subtle balance of sweetness from citrus zest. Nonetheless, each British gin is exceptional in its own way – yet juniper-driven notes will mostly be distinct on them.
With the blend of traditional and botanical ingredients, UK gin brands are well-known for offering a refined yet versatile taste, creating quality and craftsmanship in their gin products.
