The Turkish Navy’s Ada-class anti-submarine warfare corvette, TCG Kınalıada (F-514), will conduct a three-day visit to Manila Port on 26-28 June, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and the Philippines.
TCG Kınalıada has been on an expedition to various part of Asia, visiting 24 ports in 20 countries during her four-and-a-half-month journey to demonstrate the capabilities of the Turkish Naval Forces, introduce Türkiye’s national platforms and enhance bilateral relations with the countries visited.
Launched in 2017 and commissioned in 2019, TCG Kınalıada is the latest ADA-class navy ship built by the Istanbul Naval Shipyard under the MILGEM national ship building programme. It is integrated with advanced indigenous assets such as Türkiye’s first national surface-to-surface guided missile, ATMACA, and the ADVENT combat management system.
Following the visit, TCG Kınalıada and Philippine Navy ships will also conduct a joint passing exercise to highlight the growing defence cooperation between Türkiye and the Philippines.
Relations between Türkiye and the Philippines have significantly developed across various sectors in recent years, including the defence industry and the visit of TCG Kınalıada is expected to further contribute to this process.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Government of the Republic of the Philippines for the facilitation of this important visit.
Meanwhile, visit to TCG Kınalıada (F-514) will be open to public visits on June 27, 2024, from 09:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Those desiring to visit the ship are required to register by sending an email to embassy.manila@mfa.gov.tr before June 26, 2024, 12:30 PM to obtain the necessary permits for entry into the port area.
