The Manila Angel Investors Network (MAIN), the country’s largest network of angel investors, kicks off its Pitch Night on February 27, shining the spotlight on four promising Philippine tech startups.

The event provided startup founders the opportunity to present their business models and plans in a room attended by the country’s premier angel investors. Prior to the Pitch Night, founders were also coached by MAIN’s resident investors on how to improve their pitch and make it more appealing to audiences.

“Pitch Night lends startups credibility and also offers them brand exposure. By supporting these startups in their growth journey, MAIN hopes to contribute to fueling the Philippines’ startup ecosystem,” MAIN Executive Director Quenby Go said.

The startups invited to MAIN’s Pitch Night were Betterteem, DOON, CodeChum, and Beppo.

Betterteem, a cloud-based platform that monitors employee experience, aims to anticipate and lessen unwanted employee resignation through the use of AI. DOON, on the other hand, is the Philippines’ first fully insured car-sharing marketplace connecting private vehicle owners and renters. CodeChum is an assessment tool for teachers that offers programming lessons that align with CHED’s learning outcomes. Lastly, Beppo is a financial management platform that assists SMEs and self-employed individuals in organizing tax documents and receipts.

“To be able to attend this event and present in a room full of investors is very efficient for us,” Miguel Locsin, COO and Co-Founder of featured startup DOON, said.

Bo Discarga, founder of Beppo, shared the same sentiments. “If you talk about angel investing here, the first thing that comes to mind is whether you pitched in MAIN.”

MAIN’s Pitch Night was held at KMC One Ayala, Makati. MAIN has been partnering with KMC Solutions, a leading provider of flexible office space requirements and co-working space for emerging businesses in the Philippines, since 2022 for their various events.

“MAIN is grateful for KMC’s support since their fully equipped facilities have always created a conducive environment to foster collaboration and productivity between our members and startups,” Go added.

“MAIN’s dedication to empowering these stakeholders by organizing events such as the Pitch Night, aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing tailor-fit support and resources to startups, investors, and entrepreneurs as they navigate through their journey of building and growing their business.” KMC Solutions CEO, Michael McCullough said, emphasizing KMC and MAIN’s shared vision of fostering a vibrant business environment in the Philippines.

MAIN, composed of more than 120 angel investors, connects promising early-stage startups with investors, providing mentoring and guidance. Among MAIN’s notable funded startups are Kumu, FlowerStore.PH and Booky.
