The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in collaboration with Mitsukoshi, successfully held the “JICA at a Glance with Mitsukoshi Fresh” event from February 22 to 28, 2024, at the Mitsukoshi BGC in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.
This pioneering initiative aimed to introduce the public to innovative Japanese products that support sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Philippines. Centered around the theme “SDGs x Healthy Lifestyle,” the event showcased three exceptional products from Japanese companies participating in JICA’s SDGs Business Supporting Survey projects in the Philippines.
Attendees had the exclusive opportunity to experience the unique offerings of Biotech Japan Corporation’s low-protein rice, Kuwanosato, Inc.’s mulberry leaf tea, and Takara Inc.’s black garlic. Each product represents a stride towards healthier living and sustainability, aligning with the global SDGs framework.
Ambassador KOSHIKAWA Kazuhiko, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of the showcased products for health and well-being. He encouraged attendees to explore the benefits of these innovative solutions and highlighted the event’s promotion of cultural exchange and mutual appreciation between Japan and the Philippines.
Also gracing the event was the presence of the State Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, SUZUKI Kazunori, whose participation underscored Japan’s support for agricultural innovation and sustainability in fostering healthy lifestyles.
