This Thursday evening (December 7th) marks the beginning of Hanukkah, the joyful 8-day Jewish festival of lights. Each night, we light a candle on the menorah and savor Sufganiot (a type of donut).

In these challenging times, our embassies worldwide are connecting with friends of Israel, including you, to spread more light. Here’s a simple request:
On Thursday evening, light any candle (not necessarily a Hanukkah one), and share a photo on your social media using the hashtag #LightWithIsrael.

Israeli embassies all over the world including here in Manila are lighted in orange tonight, first night of Hanukkah.

As we light the first candle of the menorah, we call for the immediate and safe release of the Bibas family who were abducted from their home in Israel to Gaza by Hamas terrorists.
