After two successful meat trade missions last year, the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines has supported the event of the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB), The Great Yorkshire Show – Business Mission in United Kingdom last July 10 to 16, 2023.
With the goal of food security and stronger business partnership in the country, Atkins’ Myk Gamora and Ramcar’s Jet Ambalada Jr. met with other UK meat exporters, British farmers, industry experts, and other delegates from countries in the Middle East, America, and Asia (Taiwan).
“The British Chamber continues to promote the UK pork exports while helping food security in the Philippines. This business mission trip has proven the strong UK-PH trade relations with our collaborative efforts with AHDB,” said Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson.
The UK and the Philippines’ total trade in goods and services was £2.4 billion last year. The Philippines remains one of the key markets for pork, ranking second largest market outside the EU in volume behind China.
The British Chamber continues to promote UK-PH trade relations, support food security, and initiatives to further liberalise the Philippine economy. To continue the momentum, UK’s AHDB will be back in Manila to attend the World Food Expo (WOFEX) on August 2-5, 2023 at SMX and World Trade Center.
