President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. receives the letter of credence from His Excellency Lee Sang-hwa, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines, in a ceremony at the Reception Hall in MalacaƱan Palace on July 10, 2023.
In brief remarks, Ambassador-Designate Lee Sang-hwa expresses his keen commitment to elevating relations between the Philippines and South Korea to new heights, especially as both countries are anticipating their 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.
āToday, as I assume my duty as ambassador, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to strengthening ties that bind our nation, given that Korea and the Philippines have a lot in common and share core values such as democracy, freedom and the rule of law. I am confident we can do much, much more together for a win-win partnership,ā says the South Korean envoy.
In his reply, President Marcos Jr. acknowledges the strong bilateral ties with South Korea and expresses hope that the good relations will continue to grow in every aspect.
Prior to his appointment as the South Korean envoy to the Philippines, Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa served as his countryās top envoy to Myanmar.
