West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently marked the start of operations of its Anabu Modular Treatment Plant (ModTP), which will serve as a dedicated supply source for its customers in Imus, Cavite.

Leading the soft launch of the facility were Maynilad President and CEO Ramoncito S. Fernandez and Maynilad Chief Operating Officer Randolph T. Estrellado. They were joined by Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) Administrator Engr. Leonor C. Cleofas, MWSS-Regulatory Office Chief Regulator Atty. Patrick Ty, and Imus City Mayor Alex L. Advincula. During the launch, Fernandez thanked Imus Mayor Advincula for his leadership and support, which enabled Maynilad to fast-track the operation of this new facility that will help to extend water service availability for his constituents.

The Anabu ModTP is one of four small-scale treatment plants that Maynilad is constructing in Cavite, which will use adjacent rivers as raw water source. It will initially produce 5.5 million liters per day (MLD) of potable water supply this month. Once fully operational by September, this Php2.12-billion facility will be able to treat and produce up to 16 MLD of potable water, enough to supply around 114,000 customers in some parts of Imus City.
