Experience the culture of the Visayas and Luzon as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI) kicks off the summer festival season with their continued collaboration for Go Lokal! in Bayanihang Metro Caravan. Building upon the resounding success of the previous Bayanihang Metro Caravan x Go Lokal! collaboration in 2021 to 2022, the Go Lokal! Bayanihang Metro Caravan will have its grand launch on May 20, 2023, at the Metro Mandaue in Cebu City, aligning with the city’s Mantawi Festival. The event will be attended by representatives from DTI-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion and Region 7, government officials from Mandaue, and MRSGI.
You can find these Go Lokal brands and other local products from May 19 to June 19, 2023, at the Bayanihang Metro Caravan in Metro Mandaue: Yssa’s Handicrafts, Zigmund Enterprise, Wood PH, Tuburan Coffee, LAMAC MPC, and Bakerlane Bakery. Coinciding with the Mantawi Festival, Metro Lucena will also hold the Go Lokal! Bayanihang Metro Caravan for the Pasayahan Festival this May.
Several Metro stores across Luzon and Visayas will participate in the Go Lokal! Bayanihang Metro Caravan from July 2023 to January 2024: Super Metro Lapu-Lapu, Metro Tacloban, Metro Feliz, Metro Legazpi, Metro Danao, Super Metro CamSur, Metro Bacolod, Metro Baybay, Metro Ayala, and Metro Market! Market!
The Go Lokal! Bayanihang Metro Caravan serves as a catalyst for bringing local products closer to tourists and shoppers during local festivities. It is a testament to the shared commitment of DTI and MRSGI to uplift and empower our micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The initial partnership in 2021 and 2022 featured six exceptional Go Lokal! brands in the ‘Island Flavors’ section of Metro Market! Market! in Taguig City and Metro Ayala Center in Cebu. The collaboration brought in Php 273,139.14 of total sales. This year, the successful roll-out of the Go Lokal! Bayanihang Metro Caravan last April in Super Metro Lapu-Lapu City generated a total gross sale of Php 212,933.00.
Philippine festivals are a true embodiment of our cultural heritage. This collaboration aims to honor and promote our regional festivals while also supporting our micro, small, and medium enterprises throughout the country.
