The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines joined the Global Annual Conference at QEII Centre, London, UK on May 17, 2023. No less than British Chamber Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson who joined the business conference.
This year’s theme is “Building British Business”, and the conference served as an opportunity for business leaders across the globe to have productive session discussions. The full-day conference focused on four key breakout sessions: Trade, Economic Growth, Green Innovation, and Skills. Nelson specifically attended the Trade session.
“It was great to attend the Global Annual Conference as it has been an opportunity to promote business in the Philippines. Through this event, it will help in boosting trade and investment opportunities, and further liberalise the Philippine economy,” Nelson said.
As delegates, they have witnessed presentations from key senior politicians and notable figures — such as Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt, Leader of the Opposition Keir Starmer, and Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey.
In addition, the distinguished representatives also met other Chamber Network Members at the conference. With networking opportunities, this event highlighted how local communities and British businesses’ advocacies could thrive to continue the momentum of promoting trade and investment opportunities globally.
The British Chamber remains committed to improving the British presence in the Philippines. The UK-PH trade relations will continue to boost as the official launch of the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) will be on June 7, 2023.
