Australia expressed dismay at the recent near collision of China’s Coast Guard ship and the Philippine patrol ship carrying journalists.
In her Twit, Australian Ambassador HK Yu shared Australia’s concern and asked China to respect international law and the decision of the Hague tribunal against China’s claim on the West Philippine Sea as part of China’s 9-dash line claim as its historical rights.
“Concerned by further reports of unprofessional and dangerous conduct against the Philippines in its Exclusive Economic Zone. Australia reiterates our call for peace, stability and respect for UNCLOS in the South China Sea, a vital international waterway,” the envoy’s Twit said.
