Editor’s Note: The 2nd The Philippine Business and News Embassy Night was attended by 14 Ambassadors. But confirmed ambassadors were 17 but due to unforeseen circumstances plus the fact that THEPHILBIZNEWS Embassy Night coincided with the South Africa National Day, some ambassadors opted to join South Africa’s 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations with the Philippines. The Ambassadors, Embassy Officials, Officials of the Foreign Chambers in the Philippines, the Captains of the Industries in the Philippines and THEPHILBIZNEWS would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Hotel Okura Manila for being such a gracious host of the 2nd THEPHILBIZNEWS Embassy Night.

By Monsi A. Serrano

Your Excellencies, the Executives and Management team of Hotel Okura Manila led by Mr. Jan Marshall, Ms. Addie Samson Capindig and Mr. Danner Barbasa, the Captains of the Industries in the Philippines, partners from the different foreign chambers in the Philippines, distinguished guests, esteemed media colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, good evening!

On behalf of THEPHILBIZNEWS, we are honored to welcome you to our second Embassy Night held at the luxurious Okura Manila. It is heartwarming to see the turnout of esteemed guests, and we are humbled by your presence.

Our media company may not be well-known, but we are proud to have a big vision and mission. We believe in the 4Ps – Purpose, Public Service, People above Profit. We are dedicated to promoting stronger bonds in business, culture, education, and friendship among our nations.

We are grateful for the trust and support of the embassies and foreign chambers in the Philippines.

Our online news establishment whose digital assets are known to you as having been dedicated to fostering the means and ends of your respective missions – that is, to build stronger bonds, be it in business, culture, education, people to people or plain friendships among our nations.

We take pride for being at the forefront of promoting various embassy and consulate initiatives, and we have been perennial partners of the different embassies and foreign chambers in the Philippines. When there are new products or business coming to the Philippines, we are proud to always be in the radar of many companies, and the recent one was when the Chairman of Turkish Airlines Professor Dr. Ahmet Bolat held his press conference last month to bare development plans of Turkish Airlines, their headquarters chose us to be there in the 4 media briefing they organized for him.

With the embassies, we are very grateful for trusting us, and we have very successful collaboration with the Czech Embassy, under the tutelage of Her Excellency Ambassador Jana Sediva, when they invited 4 journalists from the Philippines for a study visit and promotion of Czech culture and tourism. Then Ambassador Jaroslaw, called me also in 2021 and asked me to be the lead media for the Philippines to choose the journalists who will be with me for a study visit in Poland. Both visits in Czech and Poland, resulted to the ongoing ducumentary video about Ukraine which our team intends to complete this year. For media enhancement program, I thank Ambassador Anke, from the German Embassy for nominating me as  a candidate for the fellowship program of the German Foreign Office to attend the Deutsche Welle (DW) Global Media Forum, taking place in Bonn, Germany on June 20 – 21 2022.

On media welfare, the embassies have been very supportive of us valuing the freedom of he press. Case in point, the murder of Percy Lapid, the Embassies of Canada, France, US, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and even Ambassador KOSHIKAWA issued their statement condemning this brutality and cowardice act to scare the journalists in the Philippines.

Moving forward, our mission to be every Filipino’s preferred source of factual information wherever they are in the world remains. We commit to further promoting investments and people-to-people understanding.

We would like to express our gratitude to Hotel Okura Manila for their generosity and trust in partnering with us for this event. We would also like to thank the foreign chambers and captains of industries in the Philippines for their confidence in doing business with us.

Lastly, we would like to thank our friends in the diplomatic community for their continuous support to our country and people. We hope that this new administration can count on your support for our much-needed economic recovery and growth.

Thank you again for gracing this Embassy Night. May God bless us all. Mabuhay!
