British Chamber and British Embassy Manila record 50K plus attendees

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines and the British Embassy had a successful weekend last March 25th and 26th with the return of The Great British Festival held at the Amphitheatre and C1 Park, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The event showcased strong UK-PH relations through the 38 companies and brands – some are Members of the British Chamber such as PruLife UK, HSBC, Coventry Motors, Shell, and CyberQ. Participants joined their activities, displays, and products that created traffic in all the booths.

With over 50,000 attendees, festival-goers were immersed in the British culture, arts, and entertainment prepared by the British Council.

The British Chamber would also like to highlight more UK trade and investment in the Philippines. One World Butchers represented the demand for pork in the country during the festival. There has been a 40% increase in UK pork exports to the Philippines from last year. The festival’s success opened the doors to next year’s possible Great British Festival, which the public should watch out for. It will also help attract more UK-PH trade opportunities.

In relation to this, Chris Nelson, Executive Director and Trustee, shared the upcoming Breaking Economic Barriers 2023: Making the Philippines an Investment Destination Forum on April 13, 2023 (Thursday) from 4 PM to 6 PM at Dusit Thani, Makati. This event will help the establishment of UK companies and businesses in the Philippines going forward.

Further, granted that the laws and economic clauses are approved, it will liberalise the country, attract more companies to invest, and be a gateway to the Southeast Asia market. Through this, it will attract more foreign investments which will boost the economy in the Philippines.
