The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) invites you to celebrate the International Women’s Day and the National Women’s Month through ‘Women’s Lives on Film’ this March!

KCC, in partnership with SM Cinema and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is screening three iconic Korean women’s films this month. The first film will be shown on March 17, 7PM at the KCC Building located in Taguig City while the two other films will be shown for free on March 30 and 31 respectively, at 7PM on both days at SM Cinema Aura Premier.

Presenting ‘Cart’ (Director Boo Jiyoung, 2014), ‘Kim Minyoung of the Report Card’ (Director Lee Jaeeun, Lim Jisun, 2022), and ‘Baseball Girl’ (Director Choi Yuntae, 2020), this specially curated film screening intends to convey the stories of women, of all ages, in our society – their viewpoints, challenges, and triumphs with the intent of bringing gender empowerment and awareness to light.

As we are screening three different movies, you may also choose to watch the film which resonated the most with you!

If you are an advocate for women’s rights, ‘Cart’ is the movie for you! Starring famous actors and actresses like Yum Jungah from ‘SKY Castle’, D.O. of EXO, and Chun Woo-hee from ‘Be Melodramatic’, this 2014 movie portrays the real-life story and struggles of female contract workers. Watching women unite and fight for what is right will truly inspire and move your heart! ‘Cart’ screening for March 17 at KCC Building is already fully booked.

Get the chance to watch the award-winning film, ‘Kim Minyoung of the Report Card’, at the Jeonju International Film Festival and Seoul International Women’s Film Festival! This film talks about friendship and the concerns of young women at the start of adulthood, and it will certainly make you look back on your own relationships as well. Make sure to catch this movie on March 30, Thursday, 7PM at the Regular Cinema 2 of SM Cinema Aura Premier with your friends!

If you were a fan of ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo’, you should definitely watch this film! Starring Lee Joo Young of several hit K-dramas including ‘Itaewon Class’ as the main character, ‘Baseball Girl’ tells the story of a female athlete challenging herself to go beyond the limitations imposed by those around her. This inspiring film will be screened on March 31, Friday, 7PM at the Regular Cinema 2, SM Cinema Aura Premier!

Online reservation will be available for those of you who want to ensure your seats, starting on March 27 until seat availability lasts. Claiming of the actual ticket will be done at 5 pm on the screening date of your choice at the cinema lobby, Level 4, SM Aura Premier. If you missed the online reservation, you may still try to get a chance to score a ticket. just approach our ticket desk to verify this. We hope to see you there!
