Italy launches trade mission in Phl, bares opportunities for 3 sectors

The Embassy of Italy in Manila, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCPI) successfully organized an exclusive Trade Mission in Manila from March 6-8, 2023.

The trade mission focused on three sectors namely, Water and Agriculture, Transportation and Energy, and when addressed would take the Philippines to new heights. Over 20 renowned Italian companies joined the trade mission, including Fincantieri, Irritec, AQP, Leonardo and Enel Green Power.

The three days mission started with a visit to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where the Italian companies will explore the opportunities offered by the Bank, with in-depth presentations by ADB’s sectoral and geographical units.

While, the second day was divided into three sectors and the Italian companies had the opportunity to establish direct contact with the Philippine authorities active in the energy, transportation, water and agriculture sectors, and presented their excellent products to all the sectoral agencies responsible for the different sub-sectors.

On the third day, the Italian delegation met with representatives of the largest Philippine conglomerates at the New World Makati Hotel, both through presentations of their profiles (first half of the day) and in-depth B2B talks with a rotation between companies based on the matching arrangements suggested by ICCPI, ITA and the Embassy, and with their mediation.

The trade mission aims to create new investment opportunities between Italy and the Philippines and at the same time provide opportunities to showcase some of the best Italian companies active in the water-treatment, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
