Nine years after it was first staged in 2014, The Great British Festival is back and set to draw more visitors as British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, together with the British Embassy Manila.
With the successful pre-pandemic launching, which was held last 2018, the upcoming celebration has an estimated of over 200,000 visitors by the weekend.
Speaking to THEPHILBIZNEWS, British Chamber Executive Director and Trustee Chris Nelson pointed out that one of the many exciting highlights will be on the trade and investment opportunities, rich culture, history, and lifestyle of the United Kingdom.
“We expect more people will be drawn to The Great British Festival‘s two-day event at the Amphitheatre and C1 Park, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City. That is the reason why we hold it on weekends from March 25-26, 2023 (Saturday and Sunday), to provide more opportunities for people to visit the event’, Nelson explained.
“We at the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines and the British Embassy Manila have been working closely together to ensure the success of the upcoming event”, he said.
There are several UK companies that will participate including Shell, HSBC, CyberQ, as well as local entrepreneur groups like Yummy Organics (which carries multiple British brands like The Berry Company, Clipper, Teapigs and Tayto’s REAL crisps), and One World Butchers (which will serve British pork). There is also a percentage growth rate in British pork exports to the Philippines with 34% in 2022.
Moreover, culture and entertainment will be highlighted at the festival. The British Council has been working on the event program with various live music performances, soliloquies, and pieces prepared by the British School Manila.
Indeed, the upcoming activities and showcase of British brands and products will encompass the Great British Festival’s aim of offering the 77th Diplomatic Relations and camaraderie between the U.K. and the Philippines.
