Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, represented by DOT NCR Regional Director Sharlene Zabala – Batin, stressed the importance of establishing a resilient tourism sector to survive as we rebuild from the pandemic, and goes further explaining the President’s vision of “transforming the tourism industry as a pillar for economic recovery”.
“Indeed, COVID-19 has been our greatest test, affecting every sector of our society. With no playbook to use, it made us hit the reset button and pivot to a realization that bouncing back isn’t enough. We ought to make the industry better and stronger.”
“We have already begun the first steps of our steadfast recovery, and with the support of our national government and the confidence of our partners in the private sector, we are optimistic that the coming days ahead only promise significant growth,” RD Batin said.
